Key Characteristics :

  • You will be given a set of statements based on the reading passage.
  • Your task is to decide whether each statement agrees with the passage or not.
  • You must choose one of the following options for each statement:
    • True – if the statement exactly matches the information in the passage.
    • False – if the statement contradicts the information in the passage.
    • Not Given – if the passage does not give enough information to decide if it is true or false.
  • The statements are presented in the same order as the information appears in the passage.
  • This task tests your ability to:
    • Understand factual information
    • Identify agreement or contradiction
    • Recognize missing or incomplete information
  • You must only use the information from the passagenot your own knowledge or opinions.
  • Be careful not to confuse False and Not Given—they are different.

⭐️ Important Tips:

  • Scan the passage for names, dates, or unique terms in the statement to find the relevant section. This saves time and increases accuracy.
  • Carefully read each statement, locate the relevant section of the passage using keywords, and compare meanings rather than relying on exact word matches.
  • Don’t assume Not Given means the whole topic is missing. Sometimes only one detail is missing.
  • If the passage says less or more than the statement, it may be Not Given or False—read carefully.
  • Beware of Partially Correct Statements If only part of the statement is supported and the rest is not mentioned, the answer is usually Not Given, not True.
  • Don’t expect the exact wording to appear—focus on the idea being expressed.
  • Write TRUE, FALSE or NOT GIVEN exactly as instructed. Do not use abbreviations.
