Flow Chart Completion WOC

Fill in missing words to complete a flow chart using exact words from the recording.

Overview

In the Flow Chart Completion (without choices) task, you are given a flow chart that shows a process, sequence of actions, or set of instructions.

Your job is to listen to a recording and fill in the missing information in the flow chart using the words or numbers you hear.

You do not get multiple-choice options — instead, you must write the correct word(s) or number(s) directly from the recording yourself based on what the speaker says.

✅Key Characteristics :

You are given a flow chart that shows a process, sequence, or procedure.

There are blank spaces in the chart that you must fill with words you hear.

No answer options are provided—you must listen and write the correct words.

Instructions will tell you the word limit (e.g. NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER).

Usually appears in Section 2 or Section 3 of the listening test, which often involves speeches, instructions, or discussions about practical topics.

Tests your ability to understand the order, stages, or steps in spoken information.

You must listen for specific details and understand the overall process.

Answers appear in the same order as the information in the audio.

Spelling and grammar must be correct to receive marks.

Use the exact words from the recording—do not rephrase.

✅ Important Tips:

****Read the flow chart and look at the choices before the audio starts.

Scan choices for keywords to help identify the correct answer.

The audio follows the same sequence as the chart. Listen for signal words (e.g., first, then).

The audio may paraphrase the choices. Focus on the meaning.

Remove options that don’t fit the sequence to narrow down your choices.

Follow word limits (e.g., “no more than one word”) to avoid losing marks.

If unsure, skip ahead and return to difficult questions later.
