Complete a summary with exact words from the recording

Overview

In the Listening Summary Completion task (without choices), you will listen to a recording and complete a short summary by filling in the blanks with words from the audio.

There will be no word list, so you must listen carefully and write the exact words you hear.

The summary will cover important details from a conversation, lecture, or talk. The answers come in the same order as in the recording. Be careful about word limits, grammar, and spelling.

You are given a summary of part of the recording with some blank spaces.

You must fill in the blanks using words or numbers from the recording.

The instructions tell you the maximum number of words and/or numbers you can write (e.g., NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS).

No answer options are provided—you must listen and write the correct words yourself.

The summary covers the main ideas or key details from a section of the audio.

The questions appear in the same order as the recording.

The language in the summary may be different from the audio (paraphrased).

Good grammar and spelling are important, as the sentence must make sense.

Predict the type of word needed (noun, number, etc.).
